Chthonic Chocolates

No, I'm not a dietician; neither am I a curmudgeon doling out jeremiads. Perhaps, the above was a little macabre, what with talk about the underworld, but one thing is for sure - the chocolate treats at Awfully Chocolate are hell bent on giving one a calorie catastrophe.

I've never been a chocoholic, though Awfully Chocolate has inexplicably struck a soft spot in me - perhaps, they've just been successful in rendering the aid of the Chocolate Gods who have been extremely enthusiastic in exhorting me to consume all that rich goodness that AC serves up.

For an after-dinner ruminatory romp (haha), a friend and I dropped in at AC and ordered the salted butterscotch brownie ($7) with a scoop of luscious hei ice cream ($4.90) along with a chocolate tart ($6.80). While the salted butterscotch brownie was delectable, it was slightly too oleaginous for our liking, so much so that we left a third of it untouched.

Next up, the ice cream was simply decadent, and a great addition to our dessert dish as always.

You're hot and you're cold (You're yes, then you're no)

Lastly, while the chocolate tart has been rich all this while, a thought struck me whilst eating it this time - wouldn't it be nice if the consistency of chocolate could be a little like that of lava cake? Despite all that fantasising, I'm not sure whether that can be accomplished (for I have zero baking knowledge), though I would personally enjoy a piping hot, delicately baked chocolate tart much more.

Chocolate Tart

And now, time to go search for more indulgent desserts as a means of fast-tracking myself to Heaven (or, as ACDC might put it, springboarding myself onto the "Highway to Hell").
